Movie S8. After placing a drop of metal on a dry substrate, the entire substrate is emerged in pH-neutral electrolyte (this step is not shown). Electrochemical removal of the oxide causes it to dewet the substrate and bead up. It dewets asymmetrically due to the placement of the counter electrode on the right side of the drop (the electrode is not shown here).
