Movie S1.

Movie of the bend and relax experiment. The cilium tip was displaced from its resting position with an optical trap and then allowed to relax back to its original position. The tip position was then tracked by hand over the course of the movie. Note that the material that aggregates in the trap is debris from solution and not a microsphere. Movies where the debris aggregated from solution remained on the cilium were not included in the analysis. This movie was taken at a 25-Hz frame rate.
