Transient toward the aligned active nematic for different activities. The phase state of the liquid crystal 8CB is indicated by the label at the Bottom of the central panel. Initially, 8CB is in the nematic phase at 36 °C. A temperature ramp of about −0.06 °C/min is applied in the three cases.
