Movie S7.
The rapid motion of MreB-PAmCherry particles stalls in the ΔaglQS strain, in which the genes encoding both MotB homologs in the gliding motor were deleted. MreB particles were imaged at 10 Hz, and the movie plays at 10 Hz in real time. Arrows point to the MreB particles that either remain stationary or display Brownian motion. (Scale bar: 1 μm.)
