Movie S2.

Asymmetric recirculating flow inside the swimming droplet. Colloids are dispersed in the nematic phase to help visualize the flow. The droplet is visualized using polarized light and under cross-polarizers. The movie is in the reference frame of the swimmer. Droplet diameter is 50 microns.

Flow-induced phase separation of active particles is controlled by boundary conditions
