Domain rearrangement between the p66 and p51 subunits of HIV-1 RT. The palm, thumb, fingers, and connection (CN) domains are shown as red, green, blue, and yellow cartoons, respectively. The connection domain is extended away from the polymerase domains in p66. The thumb becomes much more extended from the palm and fingers in p51 than in p66, and the CN domain is stuffed between the thumb and fingers in p51.
