Time lapse of cell secretion over time. A549 cells were stained with calcein and encapsulated by SPEC. Two cells in droplets were imaged every 5 minutes for 25 minutes. The differences in their rate of secretion can be observed by the differences in fluorescent signal generated when the substrate is cleaved.
