Variable Electroosmotic Flow Quadrupole: horizontal configuration. Fluorescence raw data time lapse showing the motion of 0.8 μm-diameter fluorescent in flow patterns resulting from two disk-shaped electrodes placed along the electric field. By modulating the potentials of the electrodes, a range of flow patterns can be realized, including classical quadrupole field and nested dipole configuration.
