Variable Flow Field using Concentric Electrodes. A disk-shaped electrode surrounded by an annulus shaped electrode can be configured to yield unique flow fields: recirculating flow within a finite region surrounded by quiescent fluid, and a finite stagnation volume within a flow field. The video shows the fluorescent raw data time lapse of the motion of 0.8 μm-diameter fluorescent beads under such flow fields.
