Template-matched automated crown picking in tomograms by emClarity A 24Å template was used for automated crown picking in reconstructed tomograms using emClarity. The green spheres in the movie indicate the centers of individual crown particles identified. The movie on the right shows top 2D views of each Z-frame and the crown centers which appear, as expected, at the OMM with spherules. The 3D positioning on the crown particles across the whole mitochondrial surface is emphasized in the movie on the left where a side view of the movie frames are shown with the green crown centers.
