Experimental sliding elastic orthogonal clasp. This movie presents the running experiment of the experimental sliding elastic orthogonal clasp in configuration 3 as described in Fig. 4 of the main text. As the upper tip of the sliding rod is pulled upwards at a constant velocity, the vertical force necessary to apply this displacement is recorded and represented on the right diagram. Note that the slight overshoot in force observed around the tip displacement d = 20mm stems from the fact that the static friction coefficient is slightly higher than the dynamic friction coefficient. In this study, we only considered the dynamic plateau force T1, obtained by averaging T in the stationary pulling regime.
