Sexual behavior of hormonally treated wild-type and PgrΔ136E1 null female rats. Representative interactions showing hormonally treated wild-type or PgrΔ136E1 null female rats with sexually experienced male rats. Female rats were ovariectomized and treated with estradiol benzoate followed by progesterone to induce behavioral receptivity. Note that in the first interaction, the hormonally treated wild-type female rat (+/+, No. 58) is exhibiting classic lordosis responses to male mounting, whereas in the second interaction, the hormonally treated PgrΔ136E1 null female (−/−, No. 62) is rejecting the advances of the male.
