Movie S7.

Time-lapse fluorescence microscopy corresponding to the RNCL-based membrane remodeling without the subsequent addition of protein (amphiphysin or epsin 1) (control). An aqueous buffer solution of 3 GUVs (380 μM) containing 0.1 mol % of Bodipy FL DHPE dye was added to another aqueous solution of cysteine-functionalized lysolipid 15 (380 μM) in the presence of DTT (2.6 mM), leading to the formation of GUVs composed of phospholipid 16. After 2 h of reaction, H2O was added (instead of amphiphysin or epsin 1). Membrane curvature events were not observed. Sequential fluorescence images were taken over a period of 20 min. Frames are 30 s apart. Movie frame rate is 5 fps. (Scale bar, 5 μm.)
