Activation of NP-functionalized mechanophore in 1.5 mm-thick PDMS. The pressure of 3.2 MPa is the maximum value that leads a reversible color change within the localized area while avoiding thermally-induced damage. This shows the importance of the moderate use of acoustic pressure and sonication time for a pure mechanochemical irradiation. Scale bar = 2.5 mm.
