Pico-injection Proof-Of-Concept. Here, in order to confirm pico-injection occurred uniformly, an aqueous phase was injected into water droplets. As the droplets pass through the injection chamber, a voltage is applied to merge the aqueous channel and the droplet, while the channel post-chamber helps to mix the contents of the droplets themselves. After injection, image quantification was performed to confirm uniformity (supplementary figure 4).
